Edinburgh College of Art (eca) is located in the heart of the historic Old Town of Edinburgh, Scotland, five minutes’ walk from Princes Street and the numerous recreational and cultural facilities of the city centre. Most students live within easy walking distance of the College, and experience an ease and quality of life that allows students to focus upon creative work and fully appreciate their remarkable surroundings.

Our School:
ECA offers a wide range of study areas at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Placement on a course for visiting students may be at Level Two or Three, depending upon applicant’s portfolio, goals for the study abroad experience (as described on their application form), and needs. eca is an international community of artists, designers, architects and landscape architects. International students from over 40 countries make up about 20% of the student body. As such, eca offers excellent support services for international and domestic students alike, and offers a scholarship programme for international students.

It is home to thousands of students, generating a vibrant atmosphere and contemporary feel to complement its stunning visual presence. The city is ideal in size, with a population approaching half a million. It is large enough to continually make new discoveries, yet small enough to feel inclusive, friendly, and familiar. The city is well- known for its impressive castle and numerous cultural events and festivals. Throughout the year Edinburgh’s cosmopolitan residents celebrate arts, theatre, film, literature, and science together with her many international visitors.

Edinburgh is a source of inspiration and a magnificent place in which to live and work, and eca is located right at the heart of it. One of Europe's finest capitals, as a World Heritage Site Edinburgh not only has a rich sense of history but also a lively, contemporary and cosmopolitan feel. The current population is 450,000 and is expected to grow by 50,000 over the next ten years. The City is recognised and consistently ranked one of the best locations internationally to live.
